Muddica Atturrata

This is a simple bread crumb topping


Muddica Atturrata is italian for toasted breadcrumb. This is a simple Sicilian breadcrumb topping used to top pastas in humble pasta dishes. This is not the authentic version but my own version that I like to make using panko breadcrumbs for extra texture.

Your List of Ingredients

  • 1/2 Cup of Panko Breadcrumbs

  • 1tsp Pesto

Step 1: Let’s Get Started


Place the pesto and the breadcrumbs in a small food processor or blender and pulse to combine. Place the mixture on a 1/4 sheet pan and toast lightly in a 300-degree oven for a couple of minutes until golden.


Note

If using in a baked pasta dish you may sprinkle the mixture directly on the dish and let it toast in the oven while the dish is finishing.
